Sex in North America is something that scares people. Between movies with graphic violence being rated 14A but movies with nudity being instantly rated R, or public nursing being an actual point of contention, there's always been fear. That's always struck me as weird. I mean, you probably expect your kid will have sex at some point, but you really don't want your kid robbing banks or shooting people. But regardless, the fear comes out again with Ontario's new sexual education curriculum.
This isn't just going on in Ontario, but it's an easy example because I live here. Ontario's 2015 sex ed curriculum has been called very radical. And not in the Bill and Ted kind of way. These accusations are coming from a group of, well let's not call them radical, so lets say Tubular Christians called Campaign Life. But what do they have a problem with exactly? Well here's a few examples.
They say that in grade 1, students will be taught a "Graphic lesson on sexual body parts including 'penis', 'testicles', 'vagina'". Oh my no way. They will be taught that their pee pee is their penis, and their woo woo is their vagaina. How graphic. But in all seriousness why is them knowing what their own body parts are called a problem? I'm sure they don't have a problem with them knowing that arms are arms, and not hangy grabber things.
But that's not the only monstrous thing that the government will be drilling into the minds of our youth. What other diabolical concept will be taught? That gays exist. That's right parents. You will no longer be able to tell your kids that homosexuals are just like the boogieman after grade 3. They "Will normalize homosexual family structures and homosexual "marriage" in the minds of 8-year-olds, without regard for the religious/moral beliefs of families". Which is actually weird because this part is actually explaining that people have different families of different religions and beliefs.
With all the horrible, graphic things being taught, it's a wonder all our children aren't pregnant already. But wouldn't parents be more comfortable having their kids taught in a classroom environment by a professional, and not some kid on the playground? I guess they're all too tubular for that.
